The Molitor, a modern folk chalet in Megève
A few minutes’ walk from the village and its bell tower, over which it offers an utterly magical view, the Molitor reinterprets everything that makes the mountains so charming and Megève so appealing in a contemporary, graphic score. A large wooden chalet with green shutters and a rustic elegance very much in the Le Même spirit. Over three floors, Alpine folklore and arty, intimate design sit side by side in perfect harmony, always with the attention to detail that is the signature of Les Chalets des Fermes, whose bespoke 5-star hotel service is a true dream.
A chic, peaceful haven steps from the village
Less than a 10-minute walk from Megève, the Molitor offers its guests a 330 m² haven that is both chic and peaceful. You feel sheltered from the noise of the world while being right next to the village and its bell tower, which you can admire from the covered terrace, leaning on the large wooden counter beside the balustrade or curled up on a deep, soft sofa. Dressed in green and terracotta, rich fabrics and beautiful furniture blending contemporary and traditional pieces, the large living room and its dining room, seating up to ten guests, reinvent all the codes of the Alpine chalet with conviviality and refinement.
An arty, rustic atmosphere
XXL cast-iron bells hanging above the large table, bold contemporary pieces such as the fireplace clad in green ceramic and the irresistibly soft Bulbe armchair, moulded wooden door frames, antler chandeliers and hunting trophies, beams and walls enhanced by the brushes of artist Franck Lebraly: the Molitor unfolds an arty, rustic, resolutely modern folk atmosphere. Ibex-shaped bookends, ceramics resembling large fruits or wild animals, paintings of Alpine landscapes or graphic motifs: every object carries a story.
Five suites and an Alpine art de vivre
A genuine invitation to share, the chalet’s kitchen opens elegantly onto the dining room and living room. Wood, whether moulded, raw or weathered, is everywhere, as is stone, from the slate floor to the precious splashback behind the large green Lacanche range. Upstairs, the wine cellar plays on transparency with its fully glazed walls. Green, white, beige, black and blue, the five bedrooms, all en suite, each have their own elegant and unique décor, with XXL headboards draped in bespoke Italian fabrics. Every room reflects the Sibuet family’s love of beautiful things, as this chalet once belonged to Marie and Nicolas’s grandparents.
A bespoke 5-star hotel service
Back from a forest walk or the slopes, you happily plunge into the Nordic bath on the terrace, facing a grand panorama including Mont Jaillet, unless you prefer the sauna in the fully equipped gym. Best of all, the Molitor comes with a bespoke 5-star hotel service. You will never tire of breakfast and afternoon tea, ultra-fresh and delicious as everything is homemade, served every day. The same goes for the fire and housekeeping, taken care of daily by the housekeeper. Fancy a dog-sledding outing? Just ask your Chalet Manager, as for everything else. A dream.
