A Megève institution that opened more than 70 years ago, the Roc family grocery has, since last winter, become L’Épicerie de Megève, by Les Fermes de Marie. What will you find there? A delicious selection of local and artisan products, as well as treats from around the world that can only be found here, carefully chosen by Marie and Nicolas Sibuet. In short, nothing but the very best.
A thousand savoury and sweet delights
Where five streets meet, this little shop is brimming with delights for any self-respecting gourmet. It stocks some 1,000 hand-picked products, carefully sourced in Italy, from local producers and artisans, and from Marie and Nicolas Sibuet’s travels and favourite finds, along with an excellent selection of spirits and wines with more than 400 references and a host of lovingly prepared deli dishes.
The produce is, of course, seasonal: divine charcuterie and cheeses cut to order from the Aosta Valley or from local master cheesemakers and affineurs (Flumet, Combloux, Demi-Quartier, Thonon), farmhouse yoghurts, locally grown fruit and vegetables, homemade honey, Piedmont nocciolata, olive oils from Tourtour, Luberon truffles, Kaviari caviar, and homemade foie gras and smoked salmon. L’Épicerie also offers an enviable deli menu, with homemade dishes to take away or have delivered every day, all year round: pâté en croûte and terrines, truffle macaroni, veal blanquette, fondue bourguignonne, Savoyard fondue kits, soups, ice creams, cakes, coulis and jams. As for wine, Nicolas hunts down rare lots, alongside the Maisons & Hôtels Sibuet wines made at Domaine de Marie in Ménerbes. The true taste of good things.
